voiponvsat

VSAT is an earthbound station used in satellite communications of data, voice and video signals. VSAT service is applicable to sites that are not able to be reached by any physical cable for the means of any IP network. Normally, bandwidth given by VSAT will be very small, as low as only 32kbps.

A true IP based application can even be carefully deployed using the means of VSAT, where the bandwidth given and the satellite latency are very critical issues.

i-Voice Gateway

Other Enterprise Gateways

The best voice quality. Must bear in mind that most staffs and their clients do not tolerate with bad voice quality.

i-Voice gateway gives you an excellent voice quality through its bandwidth management system; prioritize the voice packets over the data packets. This is important especially voice packets are sharing the data network. Furthermore, i-Voice gateway has a robust recovery algorithm which will recover all the loss packets during the transmission in the internet.

Most gateways do not have bandwidth management feature. Therefore, there will not be sufficient bandwidth for voice packets and this will cause voice delay and jitter problem. Most gateways could not recover loss packets in the internet.

Customers love to own their voice network.

If there are a lot of branches / offices, we suggest to customers to own a gatekeeper to help route their calls. Indirectly, we do not control customersnetwork.

Most gateways do not own a gatekeeper. They have to log on to a third party gatekeeper (SIP server). This gatekeeper will control the whole scenario. There might be some additional charges to the customers.

Customers will experience the trunk line seized through the gateway will not release even after the call is finished. This will lead to the congestion of the ports used.

i-Voice has an anti-line seizure feature. It has an automatic learning mechanism to recognize busy/reorder tones. The seized line (FXO) interfaces / resources will be released smoothly within 2-5 seconds after the conversation finished, without any effect of device setting by user.

Most gateways do not recognize correctly the state of conversation of the calls by tone indications. Therefore, they will not release the seized line interfaces. Furthermore, different PBXs generate different tones and make it difficult of these gateways to recognize the tones.

Most customers do not want VoIP to disturb their existing network infrastructure or phone system.

i-Voice installation is easy. Customers can enjoy using VoIP solution through aDSL (broadband) from Telecom. Customers do not need to redesign their existing IP network.

Most gateways do not support dynamic IP and do not have bandwidth management. Therefore, these gateways depend on the existing network infrastructure to manage the voice packets for a better voice quality.

Customers who are familiar with networking definitely will not allow the gateways (or IP PBXs) to be installed behind their network routers or firewalls.

i-Voice gateway is always advice to be installed in front of the data network, where it also acts as a router and able to collect all the voice packets for the PBX (prioritirize voice packets due to voice need real time process) and route all data packets to the existing network and firewall.

Most gateways and IP PBXs are usually design to be installed behind the IP network and firewall. This is because that these gateways or IP PBXs need a layer 3 or higher switches and high-end routers to manage the IP packets.

Customers want a direct and fast Return On Investment (ROI). Low cost of ownership.

i-Voice is the solution for fast ROI. Customers can keep their existing PBX. They only need to apply for aDSL line instead of leased line. Customers do not need to purchase expensive layer 3 switches and high-end routers.

Most gateways must use expensive layer 3 (and above) switches and high-end routers to ensure the gateways have sufficient bandwidth.

Customers want the reports / details of all the calling through the IP networks.

i-Voice gateways will support CDR (Call Detail ) server utility.

Most gateways do not support CDR server utility.

Interoperability with other brandsgateways. Customers want openness in the network.

i-Voice gateway is able to speak to other gateways using the ITU standard which is H.323, or speak to any independent gatekeeper through RAS signaling. i-Voice is also SIP ready.

Many gateways are proprietary to their own brand. This is because that they are logged to a controlled gatekeeper.

Customers want reliability and will no tolerate failure.

Hammer test is done on i-Voice. Success rate is 100%.

Success rate varies from 80% to 99.9%.

Customers are always interested that any installation that will be fast in order not to disrupt their daily work.

i-Voice gateway can be pre-programmed at our data centre before deploying at customerspremises. Any additional programming can be done using telnet and web browser.

Gateways that are install behind any managed IP network need to be configured to talk to the firewall and switch of the IP network. This involves network and firewall parties and will probably take days. This will definitely disrupt the customersdaily task.
